We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Portfolio Manager to join our team at Coal LSL. As a key member of our investment team, you will play a critical role in managing our portfolio to achieve organisational objectives and improve the funding ratio.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Management: Contribute to idea generation to capture return opportunities and manage risk to ensure the Fund delivers on its objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and evaluating the performance and risk characteristics of the total portfolio, asset classes, and managers.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the asset consultant, custodian, investment managers, and the Actuary.
- Reporting and Analysis: Produce reports for senior management, the Investment Committee (IC), and Board.
- Operational Support: Support the execution of the Investment Strategy, by assisting with operational activities such as:
- Portfolio rebalancing
- Providing instructions to the custodian
- Cash and liquidity management
- Reporting and liaising with the Fund custodian, investment managers, and other external providers
- Ensuring compliance of major service providers to contractual reporting requirements and SLAs
- Monitoring responsible investment practices at external investment managers
- Developing and maintaining processes, procedures, and investment documentation to ensure robust investment operations
- Ongoing due diligence activities
- Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial data, assess cash flows, and undertake performance calculations.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Investment Knowledge: Strong understanding of investment markets, operational processes, and performance measurement, with an eye for detail and ability to make sound judgement and recommendations.
- Microsoft Applications: Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Education: You will have a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting, commerce, or equivalent.
