
Payment Team Leader

This role oversees the processing and payment of workers compensation claims, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The successful candidate will lead a team of Payment/Claims Support Officers, managing leave and workloads to ensure consistent coverage.

- Perform regular audits to ensure payments are accurate and justified; investigate discrepancies or errors in payment processing;

- Collaborate with case managers, insurers, and finance teams to resolve payment issues;
Communicate effectively with injured workers or legal representatives regarding payment status;
Act as an escalation point for complex or sensitive payment matters.

- Generate and review reports on payment volumes, turnaround times, and error rates;
Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data trends;
Support budgeting and forecasting related to claims payouts.

Required Skills, Experience And Qualifications:
- Experience in processing workers compensation payments or claims;
Good understanding of workers compensation laws and policies;
Previous experience leading or supervising a team;
Experience working in insurance, government, or a similar regulated industry;
Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills;
Familiarity with claims management or payment systems;
Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines;
Experience reviewing payment accuracy and resolving issues;
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other basic software;
Strong communication and documentation skills.
