Job Title: Senior Azure Database Performance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Database Performance Engineer to join our Database Operations team at State Street. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and optimization of our Microsoft SQL Server databases in Azure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing query tuning to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with application teams and stakeholders to resolve database-related issues and ensure high availability.
  • Design and implement database solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and procedures to ensure database performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to application development teams on database performance and optimization.
Requirements:
  • 6-8 years of experience working with large MS SQL Server databases in a 24x7 production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and database design patterns.
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and Snowflake.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
