Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mining Professional to develop medium to long term mine designs and schedules for a coal operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on production performance against plans and schedules, ensuring compliance with safety, legislative, and statutory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders to maximise operational productivity and equipment utilisation.
  • Prepare and communicate site physicals for budget and forecast processes.
  • Provide detailed rolling forecasts and budgets for the operation.
  • Communicate effectively with technical services, maintenance, and operations personnel in relation to deliverables for mid/long term schedules.
  • Assist and mentor other members of the technical services team as required.
  • Ensure designs/schedules are compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Report hazards and incidents.
  • Participate in safety investigations as required.

The Role:

This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight schedule, with flexibility to allow for residential, DIDO or FIFO arrangements.

About You:

Demonstrated experience as a Mining Engineer is essential. Significant site experience in a mine operation, preferably in an open-cut coal mine, is also required.

Proven experience in mine scheduling and design, along with associated tasks, is necessary.

A competent user of Vulcan, Deswik, and Spry software is expected.

Demonstrated experience contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives is desired.

A commitment to safety and the environment is mandatory.
