Job Title: Senior Mining Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the development of medium to long term mine designs and schedules for a coal mine.

The primary objective of this position is to monitor and report on production performance against plans and schedules while ensuring compliance with safety, legislative, and statutory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to optimise operational productivity and equipment utilisation.
  • Prepare and communicate site physicals for annual budget processes.
  • Provide detailed rolling forecasts and budgets for the operation.
  • Communicate effectively with technical services, maintenance, and mine operations personnel in relation to deliverables for mid/long term schedules.
  • Assist and mentor other members of the technical services team as required.
  • Ensure designs/schedules are compliant with site safety management systems, relevant statutory requirements, and legislation.

This role offers a 9-day fortnight, Monday to Thursday cycle, with flexibility for remote work arrangements.

Key Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably from within the resources sector.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Mining Engineer is essential.
  • Significant site experience in a mine operation, preferably in an open-cut coal mine.
  • Proven site experience in mine scheduling and design, along with associated tasks.
  • Competent user of Vulcan, Deswik, Spry.
  • Demonstrated experience of contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to safety and the environment.
