As a seasoned Mining Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining medium to short and long-term mine designs and schedules for a major mining operation.
The key focus of this position is to monitor and report on production performance against plans and schedules, ensuring strict compliance with safety, legislative, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to maximize operational productivity and equipment utilization in schedules.
- Prepare and communicate site physicals for annual budget and monthly forecast processes.
- Provide detailed rolling medium-term forecasts and budgets for the operation.
- Communicate effectively with technical services, CHPP, maintenance, and mine operations personnel in relation to deliverables for mid/long-term schedules.
- Assist and mentor other members of the technical services team as required.
- Ensure designs/schedules are compliant with the site's Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), relevant statutory requirements, and legislation.
- Actively report hazards and incidents.
- Demonstrated experience as a Mining Engineer is essential.
- Experience in a mine operation and proven site experience in mine scheduling and design are required.
- Competent user of Vulcan, Deswik, and Spry software applications.
- Demonstrated experience of contributing to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
- Commitment to safety and the environment.
