Senior Hydrogeologist/Hydrogeochemist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrogeologist/Hydrogeochemist to join our team. As a key member of our hydrogeology group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to our clients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in contaminated land and groundwater projects, with a strong background in hydrogeological assessment, including aquifer testing, data interpretation, and conceptual site modelling.

You will lead the design, implementation, and interpretation of groundwater investigations and monitoring programs, deliver hydrogeological risk assessments, and provide technical direction on groundwater fate and transport modelling.

Additionally, you will review and prepare high-quality technical reports and proposals, engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and interpretation of groundwater investigations and monitoring programs.
  • Deliver hydrogeological risk assessments and conceptual site models for contaminated land and remediation projects.
  • Provide technical direction on groundwater fate and transport modelling, including contaminant behaviour.
  • Review and prepare high-quality technical reports and proposals.
  • Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure project success and foster strong relationships.
  • Mentor and support junior hydrogeologists and environmental scientists within the team.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, report writing, and project management skills.
  • Minimum 8 years' professional experience in contaminated land and groundwater projects, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven expertise in hydrogeological assessment, including aquifer testing, data interpretation, and conceptual site modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, guidelines, and reporting standards relevant to contaminated sites.
  • Experience with groundwater modelling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW) and contaminant transport tools.
  • The ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering quality outcomes.
