Talent Manager Job Description

The talent team plays a pivotal role in the company's success and growth. As a key member of our wider team, you will source, recruit, and guide legal talent throughout their experience with us, ensuring lawyer skills are matched to exciting client opportunities.

  • Job Summary:
    • This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced recruiting professional to join our team and take on a critical role in sourcing, recruiting, and guiding legal talent.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Talent Acquisition:
      • Build and maintain a network of potential candidates by direct sourcing, proactive market research, and ongoing relationship management;
      • Evaluate attorney candidates through preliminary interviews and use professional judgment in partnership with the team;
      • Ensure timely candidate correspondence as the main point of contact;
      • Manage client demand in partnership with the commercial team and assist in hiring strategy to ensure a consistent pipeline of candidates;
    • Talent Management:
      • Serve as primary partner for a group of legal professionals in defined practice areas to provide exceptional client and talent experience;
      • Accountable for managing all legal professionals from hire through retirement, providing a best-in-class lawyer and client experience;
      • Deliver against client requests for talent, including identifying relevant talent, liaising with the Sales team and Client, and successfully closing engagements;
      • Identify legal talent to fulfill client opportunities within practice areas, working directly with the Sales team and clients to drive and win deals;
      • Develop a deep understanding of skills, practice areas, and industry experience across specific practice areas, including being an authority on the state of the legal profession;

Requirements:

  • 4+ years full cycle recruiting experience within a recruiting agency or in-house for a company;
  • Strong interviewing capabilities to assess candidate skills, ability, and suitability efficiently and quickly;
  • Deep sense of urgency, pace, and drive to match legal talent with client opportunities;
  • Poise, confidence, and gravitas to interact with highly experienced legal professionals;
  • Ability to work in a team environment, organize multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt quickly to changes, and creatively problem solve;
  • Excellent systems skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word;
