Job Opportunity

The CMHDA Complex Care Rural Clinician plays a vital role in ensuring individuals residing in Broken Hill and surrounding communities have access to timely and effective mental health assessment, treatment, and counseling for the effects of mental illness, significant psychosocial distress, and suicidality.

This position is part of the NSW Health rural workforce incentive scheme, which recognises the key role health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive MHDA assessment, treatment, and counseling services to individuals residing in Broken Hill and surrounding communities.
  • Work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups, including people with lived experience of suicide and recovery.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to address mental health and substance misuse issues.
Requirements:
  • A recognised degree in psychology, social work, or occupational therapy, with eligibility for NSW registration/professional association where relevant.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary adult mental health and/or drug and alcohol setting.
  • Excellent networking skills, with the capacity to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the recovery model and patient-centred care.
  • Current licence to drive in NSW.
