Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Job

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia is a leading provider of aeromedical care in remote and regional Australia.

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our comprehensive Mental Health, Alcohol & other Drug and Wellbeing Team.

  • This team offers clinical care across the stepped mental health care model, from wellbeing centres and outreach services to remote clinic locations.

As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide high-level clinical assessment, diagnostics and treatment planning for clients living with chronic mental illness.

You will work closely with our team to deliver a recovery-oriented service, ensuring healthcare equity despite geographical remoteness.

The role requires significant experience or understanding of working in rural/remote/population health, as well as postgraduate qualifications in nursing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level clinical assessment and diagnosis for clients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Deliver therapy and case management services in line with client needs
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Credentialed Mental Health Nurse (or ability to work towards) registered with AHPRA
  • Postgraduate experience of at least two years as a mental health nurse in a clinical role
  • Nurse Practitioner – Master of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Mental Health
