Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant to lead our youth mental health team in Tasmania. As a key member of the Department of Health, you will be responsible for providing high-level clinical leadership and expertise to support the development of child and youth mental health services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people in Tasmania. You will have the chance to work with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the growth and success of our Child and Youth Mental Health Service.

About the Role

The successful candidate will possess specialist tertiary qualifications in mental health/psychiatric nursing and have significant experience working with children, adolescents, and young people. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to provide high-quality clinical leadership and supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level clinical leadership to the youth mental health team
  • Develop and implement specialised treatment programs
  • Work collaboratively with consultant psychiatrists and other team members to develop new child and youth mental health services
  • Supervise and support other team members as required

Requirements

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Specialist tertiary qualification in mental health/psychiatric nursing
  • Significant experience working with children, adolescents, and young people
