About the role
The In-Work Support Mentor plays a vital role in supporting individuals to maintain sustainable employment outcomes. This position focuses on providing ongoing mentoring, guidance, and practical assistance to both participants and employers to help resolve workplace challenges, strengthen retention, and promote long-term success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring each participant's individual needs and aspirations for employment are at the centre of focus
- Providing tailored post-placement and on-the-job support to participants to help them maintain sustainable employment
- Mentoring participants and offering specialised assistance to address workplace or personal barriers
- Actively engaging with the local community, industries, and stakeholders to identify growth and revenue opportunities for the organisation
- Monitoring placement progress and outcomes and communicating any risks to relevant team members
- Running and analysing participants' reported hours and income, supporting accurate reporting and compliance
- Maintaining clear and compliant records of participants ongoing employment, services provided, and participant support
- Communicating proactively with team members regarding any job loss, potential job loss, or significant reduction in hours, and acting quickly to resolve issues
