Optimal Mental Health Support Specialist
Job Description:
As an Optimal Mental Health Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing essential support to Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families. Your role will involve working within a multidisciplinary team to assess, manage, and provide therapy services to minimize mental health challenges.
You will work in town and visit Central Australian communities to ensure all Aboriginal children have access to evidence-based assessment and therapeutic services within a continuous quality improvement framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop treatment plans for Aboriginal children with suspected or emerging mental illness or behavioural disorders.
- Provide individualized therapy services to promote positive mental health outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for children and their families.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Eligibility for membership of the Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA).
- Strong clinical and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and communities.
