Position Overview

The Child Psychologist provides expert assessments and therapeutic services to Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families, prioritising the child’s mental health.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the position supports children with suspected or emerging mental illness or behavioural challenges, including early assessment, therapy, management, and family support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver psychologist assessment and therapeutic services to Aboriginal children aged 0-12 and their families, optimising their mental well-being.
  • Support children with suspected or emerging mental illness or behavioural challenges, including early assessment, therapy, management, and family support.
Requirements
  • Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
  • Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number and ability to bill for services rendered.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing psychological support to children aged 0-12 years, with a strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
