As a Family Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to carer families in their homes.
About the RoleYou will work collaboratively with carer families to deliver regular in-home support that addresses both practical and emotional needs.
Your responsibilities will include accompanying carers to appointments and enabling them to access community groups and activities. You will also provide vital support after school and in the evenings, conducting ongoing assessments in consultation with case workers.
This is an ongoing full-time position within our Intensive Family Support/Family Care Support Services Program. The role demands knowledge of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as awareness of issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities:- To possess a relevant qualification and/or experience in human services or a related discipline
- To demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- To have knowledge of vulnerable children, young people, and families, including understanding trauma, attachment, and child development
