We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Counsellor. This role involves providing assessments, crisis, and ongoing counselling to adults who have experienced domestic violence, and children and adults who have experienced sexual assault.


Job Description:

This position is part of a dynamic ISLHD Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Service (DFVSAS) team that offers a range of services to support individuals and communities affected by trauma. As an Aboriginal Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Counsellor, you will work closely with clients to provide individualised support and develop strategies to enhance their well-being and resilience.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A degree in social work or psychology, with a minimum of three years of experience, and full AHPRA registration
  • Experience working with adults, young people, and children with complex trauma
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the key health issues impacting Aboriginal people and communities
