Aboriginal Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Counsellor Job Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Aboriginal Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Counsellor to join our team. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary service providing assessments, crisis and ongoing counselling to adults who have experienced domestic violence, and children and adults who have experienced sexual assault.

The successful candidate will provide cultural supervision and education to clients, assess and counsel adults who have experienced domestic violence and children and adults who have experienced sexual assault, and work with clients to develop and implement plans to address their trauma and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally sensitive support and guidance to clients
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored plans to address client needs
  • Work collaboratively with clients, family members, and other professionals to achieve optimal outcomes
Requirements
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience in social work or a related field
  • Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance
  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence
  • Corroboration of Aboriginality and community ties
