We are seeking a caring and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker.

Job Description

To support people with disabilities of all ages and needs in their homes and the community, providing quality services that empower them to live fulfilling lives. We aim to create a world where disability is no longer an obstacle to achieving life goals and making a positive contribution to the community.

About You

We require someone warm, friendly, respectful, and willing to learn, who truly cares for clients and is able to help them achieve their full potential. An ability to build strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders is essential, as is a genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with mental/physical disabilities. Experience working with Autism and ADHD is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff, management, participants, their family, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Liaise with participants' family and friends to explore new goals, ambitions, promote, and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide strong communication.
  • Provide regular and frequent quality and professional support in line with participants' plans, needs, and wants.
  • Assist participants with accessing their social community to engage with friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle.
  • Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, identify areas of increased support, and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support or Cert IV in Disability/Aged Care/Mental Health, or equivalent qualification.
  • Current First Aid Level 2 Certificate.
  • National Police Check.
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance (preferred but not essential).
  • Manual handling (preferred).
  • Administration of medication (preferred).
  • Current CPR.
  • Current Australian Driver's License.
  • Covid'19 Vaccination certificate.
