About the Role

We are seeking an experienced leader to support our Centre Director in providing high-quality early learning and care. As the Assistant Director, you will be responsible for mentoring and building capabilities within the centre team, managing the centre in the Centre Director's absence, and implementing the Goodstart Practice Guide.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Centre Director in leading the team to deliver exceptional early learning services
  • Mentoring and developing the skills of centre staff
  • Managing the centre in the Centre Director's absence, ensuring seamless operations
  • Implementing the Goodstart Practice Guide to drive continuous improvement
About Our Centre

Our 66-place centre at Gunnedah is nestled in the heart of the Kamilaroi People's traditional lands, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and community spirit. With four dedicated rooms, including nursery, toddler, junior preschool, and preschool, we provide a comprehensive early learning experience for children aged 0-5 years.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education
  • A current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience in leading and managing change within education, health, or community services
  • Experience delivering integrated early childhood services in areas of disadvantage
  • Proven commercial acumen with financial and operational performance management
