Job Title

A Marine Vessel Engineer position has become available in a dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled professional with a demonstrated positive attitude, flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and public holidays.

  • Experienced Marine Engineer with minimum MED 2 or MED 1 qualification (preferably within the Marine Tourism industry);
  • Good level of marine engine and system knowledge;
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and introducing practical safety measures;
  • Excellent customer service skills ensuring guest expectations are met;
  • Experience with high speed vessels;
  • Excellent ability to manage time and have strong organisational skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills with customer service resolution skill.
About the Role

We seek a highly skilled Marine Vessel Engineer to join our team on a full-time or part-time, seasonal contract working a lifestyle roster. Casual opportunities are also available.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily engine and machinery checks on assigned vessels;
  • Assist Master with vessel management and safe operations in accordance with policies and procedures;
  • Diagnose system problems as and when they occur;
  • Ensure all maintenance requirements and ramifications are recorded;
  • Coordinate and maintain effective vessel preventative maintenance programs;
  • Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign off;
  • Liaise and co-ordinate servicing and repairs with shore support as required;
  • Assist with securing vessels at marinas and island jetties;
  • Be involved in safety drill practices as required by the Master;
  • Assist with guest experience duties including meeting and greeting of guests.
