Job Overview

The Site Engineering Manager oversees the engineering and maintenance functions to drive improvements in maintenance performance and unplanned downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering team to ensure effective site operation, maximizing efficiency and performance.
  • Engage, motivate, and develop the team to achieve individual, team, and site objectives.
  • Ensure safety and quality assurance practices are implemented into all repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Drive asset management standards through robust maintenance standards on site.
  • Manage planned and breakdown maintenance activities to reduce downtime using maintenance plans and performance measurement tools.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement annual and 5-year capital plans for asset replacement and plant reliability improvement.
  • Manage expenditure within budgetary constraints, forecast capital expenditure, and cash flow.
  • Communicate and meet Inghams' standards including animal welfare, health and safety, quality, and environmental.
Requirements:
  • Exceptional people leadership capability with experience leading a large engineering and maintenance team.
  • Ability to coach and develop others, provide direct feedback, and monitor performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with effective P&L and budget management skills.
  • Exposure to site services including ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, gas-fired boilers, and water heaters.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives including knowledge of 5S, LEAN/Six Sigma.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful maintenance practices and performance.
  • Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • A tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
