Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our purchasing team and oversee the full procurement lifecycle. This role involves ensuring supplier partnerships, inventory management, and procurement processes are cost-effective and reliable.


About the Role

The successful candidate will be a commercially astute, strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team. They will have experience in supplier and cost management, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and reducing costs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end procurement, including supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • AUTHORISE supply contracts, corrective actions, and supplier engagement strategies in line with company standards.
  • Oversee tender preparation, proposals, contract execution, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Drive vendor analysis and cost reduction initiatives for improved efficiency.
  • Manage ingredient sourcing for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy in pricing, stock levels, and timeframes.
  • Implement reporting mechanisms for raw material usage and procurement metrics.
  • Conduct technical and process analysis to identify improvements, advising senior management on strategies.
  • Develop innovative procurement tools and systems.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the Purchasing team.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in purchasing and logistics, preferably in FMCG or multi-site manufacturing.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong business, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and leadership capabilities.
