Senior Procurement Professional Role

The position of Senior Procurement Specialist is crucial in driving procurement excellence strategies for high-risk categories across the organisation. This role focuses on building strong partnerships with stakeholders to ensure efficient, cost-effective and compliant acquisition of goods and services that align with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes: sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation and supplier management.
  • Develop Request for Information (RFI) documentation and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with NHVR procurement policies and procedures, act as Probity Officer.
  • Liaise with legal services for procurement matters.
  • Advise stakeholders on sourcing and risk management strategies.
  • Plan and deliver procurement initiatives within project timelines.
  • Ensure purchases meet policy, cost, safety and legislative standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement and strategic transformation of procurement.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in complex procurement environments.
  • Expertise in high-risk and high-value tenders and contract management.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, preferably using tools like Vendor Panel and D365.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
