Job Overview

A pivotal leader in manufacturing operations, this role oversees the entire production lifecycle from material receipt to product dispatch.

This position demands strong leadership skills, meticulous planning, and excellent organisational abilities. Key responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and managing a team of trades personnel, as well as managing work-in-progress routing, developing workshop loadings, and creating robust production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of trades personnel to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Manage daily tasks, address performance issues, and support skill development among team members.
  • Oversee efficient receipt, labelling, and organisation of raw materials and components, ensuring optimal factory space utilisation and smooth material flow.
  • Prepare finished goods for dispatch and ensure accurate dissemination of engineering information.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and other teams to provide feedback on capacity and progress.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a production supervision or similar leadership role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of people management principles and ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (Raw material, commercial items, turning, milling, welding, painting).
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management, inwards/outwards logistics, and procurement.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, be able to prioritise effectively based on operational requirements, and have a passion for leading teams. A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is highly desirable.
