Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator is a key role within Puma Energy, responsible for leading the Bitumen Operations Excellence Program globally. This program aims to implement operational guidelines, quality control, and continuous process improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Excellence
- Lead the Bitumen Operations Excellence program, aligning with Puma Energy's Operational Excellence procedures.
- Maintain, standardize, and document Bitumen operational standards and processes.
- Design and execute training programs for employees on operational excellence principles and techniques.
- Develop and maintain an auditing program for compliance to standards and practices.
- Improvement Initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to propose innovative solutions to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work with all functions to identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
- Documentation and Business Tools
- Oversee the documentation and updating of processes and procedures to reflect current best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain standard tools used by operations to achieve consistency, efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Key Performance Indicators
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track progress and impact of operational excellence initiatives.
- Operational Competency
- Maintain a high level of competence in operational duties performed at terminals, completed by supervisors and frontline workers.
- Provide backfill for strategic roles when necessary.
- Training
- Develop, maintain, and deliver training and assessment programs for operational duties, including train-the-trainer programs.
- Business Support
- Perform any other relevant tasks as directed by your Manager.
- Qualifications
- Tertiary education in an engineering-related discipline or relevant trade certification.
- Experience and Skills
- More than 5 years of experience in frontline industrial operations, Bitumen experience preferred.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and work collaboratively with others.
- Effective communicator.
- Knowledge of relevant industry safety, engineering standards, and trade practices.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly regarding processing equipment.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong customer focus and self-motivated to identify and implement operational improvements.
- Strong computer skills using Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel both nationally and globally.
