About the Role

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is seeking a highly skilled Resource Manager to join its Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). As a key member of the EPMO team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of resources to achieve the Commission's strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning available employees to projects, monitoring day-to-day project activities, and managing resource conflicts. You will also be responsible for capacity planning, ensuring that resources have the capacity to work on upcoming projects, and monitoring and managing resources workload, utilisation, and overtime hours.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assign available employees to projects in accordance with their skillsets and project requirements.
  2. Monitor day-to-day project activities and corresponding resourcing.
  3. Capacity planning, ensuring that resources have capacity to work on upcoming projects.
  4. Monitoring and managing resources workload, utilisation, and overtime hours.
  5. Manage resource conflicts.
  6. Overcome resource shortages by means of resource management techniques, reallocating resources, assigning more staff.
  7. Understand all current and upcoming projects within the Commission and be able to plan resourcing accordingly.
  8. Collaborate with the Commission's People and Culture team regarding staff training, compensation, and benefit planning, payroll administration, and hiring of new staff.
  9. Documenting of processes, e.g. weekly utilisation reports.
  10. Report Resource Status to the EPMO Leadership Team – raising risks and keeping the team informed of current resource status.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business management, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing programs and projects, including effective change management.
  • Ability to adhere to established business practices and project methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and forecasting skills.
  • Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and good decision-making skills.
  • Managerial and time-management skills.
  • Experience using PPM Tools, Power BI, and Agile approaches to Project Management.
  • Experience with organisational development, change, or business improvement programs.
  • Understanding of the Commission's internal and external operating context.
What We Offer
  • Salary offered will be between $114,300 and $143,400 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
  • Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
  • Non-ongoing opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 18 months with the possibility to become ongoing.
