Based in Deception Bay, Queensland, this role oversees the Communities for Children (CfC) program, aiming to enhance the wellbeing of children aged 0-12 years in the local community.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.

  • Manage contracts and drive community consultation
  • Work with stakeholders to identify strategies and codesign service models
  • Lead a team in delivering community development activities and project work
  • Develop and monitor Community Partner contracts and event-specific service agreements
  • Monitor and assess the performance and effectiveness of services provided by Community Partners

This is a maximum term position funded until 30 June 2026. Subject to continued funding, the position may lead to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of professionals in delivering community development activities and project work
  • Managing contracts and driving community consultation
  • Working with stakeholders to identify strategies and codesign service models
  • Developing and monitoring Community Partner contracts and event-specific service agreements
  • Monitoring and assessing the performance and effectiveness of services provided by Community Partners

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of community development principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A degree level qualification in community development, social work, human services or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in leading child and family initiatives
  • Demonstrated skills in community development and ability to build effective partnerships
  • A strong understanding of culturally appropriate ways of working
  • Experience in coordinating programs including administration, managing budgets and monitoring contracts

You will also need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
