Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Construction Project Director to join our team. As a key member of our construction practice, you will be responsible for leading large-scale projects from concept to completion. Your primary focus will be on ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

About the Role:

  • Lead project teams to deliver complex construction projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Develop and implement project strategies, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct site assessments, due diligence reports, cost reports, and other project-related documentation.
  • Manage internal and external project stakeholders, including consultants and contractors.
  • Plan and coordinate design development, reviews, and approvals during the planning and construction phases.
  • Undertake procurement management, including trade tender packages.
  • Appoint and manage contractors while maintaining probity requirements.
  • Handle contract administration, including progress claims, variations, extensions of time, and completing documentation.
  • Monitor and manage completion activities, including commissioning, handover, takeover, and defects.
  • Prepare project programmes and monitor projects in line with those programmes developed by contractors and approved by clients.
  • Monitor project costs in line with approved budgets.
  • Liaise with local authorities as required to ensure the works are authorised as the project progresses.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a construction or engineering-related discipline, such as construction management, M&E/civil engineering, architecture, or project management.
  • A minimum of seven years' experience working on a range of projects in consultancy.
  • Experience in commercial office fit-out is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Experience in advisory services, such as risk management and workshop facilitation, is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
