Senior PPA and Energy Markets Strategist

About the Role

This key leadership position will play a pivotal role in driving our organisation's success by providing strategic input, support and leadership in executing the PPA and Energy Markets mandate.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing and monitoring energy market data, implementing trading and risk capabilities, appraising new growth opportunities, as well as identifying ways to improve overall business performance through energy markets strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Appraising commercial opportunities and gathering relevant information
  • Locating and analysing energy industry data to develop comprehensive plans
  • Crafting high-quality commercial proposals that cater to customer needs
  • Electricity market modelling
  • Commercial and financial modelling
  • Research, data analysis and management
  • Conveying energy market insights

Skills & Experience required:

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, business, science or engineering
  • Energy-related commercial analysis experience
  • Excellent research, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate project status, timeline, risk assessment, budget requirements and performance
  • Familiarity with electricity market modelling processes
  • Experience with contract and regulatory structures relating to renewable energy trading
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, focusing on enhancing value for customers
