We work in a variety of community-based settings, including people's homes, residential facilities, and secure settings across metropolitan, rural, and regional Victoria.

We are seeking a Senior Disability Practice Advisor to support the division's Principal Disability Practice Advisor in guiding practice, coordinating and monitoring activities that support the care of children with complex disabilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in working with Child Protection and Family Services to drive improved outcomes for children with disabilities and collaboratively address gaps in disability and mainstream service systems.

The role requires high-level stakeholder relationship management, including a strong interface with mainstream services and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), as well as direct engagement with the families of children with disabilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide a coordinated response to children and young people with disabilities at risk of, or requiring, supports outside the family home.
  • Supporting the establishment of accommodation arrangements for children and young people who are unable to live in the family home due to their complex disability needs.
  • Providing mainstream case coordination support to ensure children and young people in care arrangements can either return to living with their families or smoothly transition into adult services which meet their long-term needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of disability support services and a proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve improved outcomes for children with disabilities. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
