We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Disaster Program Officer. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping us shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

Main Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Review and develop disaster recovery policies and strategies to align with sector best practices and actively promote leadership in the field.">
  • Work with stakeholders to integrate community engagement and capacity-building activities into resilience-building programs.">
  • Raise awareness and assist partners in prioritising critical objectives outlined in the Recovery Sub Plan.">
  • Develop and sustain the Council's recovery capability.">
  • Provide analysis and expert advice to Moreton Bay Local Disaster Management and Recovery Groups.">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a small team and delivering disaster recovery programs with a resilience-building and community development approach. They will possess excellent people and relationship management skills, exceptional presentation and communication skills, and a detailed knowledge of the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements (QDMA) and other relevant statutory requirements.
