\Disaster Recovery Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by disasters. As a Disaster Recovery Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and enhancing community resilience through the development and implementation of disaster recovery policies and strategies.

\

The successful candidate will have extensive experience leading small teams and delivering disaster recovery programs with a focus on community development and resilience building. They will possess excellent people management skills, including stakeholder engagement and capacity-building activities, as well as exceptional presentation and communication skills to empower disaster preparedness.

\Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery policies and strategies that enhance community resilience
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate community engagement and capacity-building activities into resilience-building programs
  • Provide analysis and expert advice to local disaster management and recovery groups
\Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Detailed knowledge of Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements (QDMA) and other relevant statutory requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure, including engaging community members exposed to trauma and direct impacts of disaster
