Control Room Technician

About the Role:
Carrapateena is a large-scale, world-class mine operated by a team of skilled professionals. We are seeking a dedicated Control Room Technician to join our team and contribute to the success of our underground mining operations.
This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your technical skills and knowledge to optimize equipment performance and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our mine.
In This Role You Will:
- Monitor and control equipment remotely to assist in the delivery of planned activities and meet or exceed daily targets.
- Effectively capture data via two-way communications and enter it into the appropriate systems.
- Validate equipment performance and instrumentation on a regular basis.
- Communicate tasks that can be opportunely performed during planned or unplanned downtimes.
- Understand the SOC Technician's role in emergency/incident management.
- Drive continuous improvement to generate new ideas that benefit the business.
- Remain open to multiskilling in other control functions of the Site Operations Centre and project/leadership roles.
- Assist in the training and development of new team members.
- Provide support/assistance to field technicians and engage with others using HWWT principles.
Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (30-minute flight from Port Augusta / 60-minute flight from Adelaide)
Roster: 8 days, 6 days off, 7 nights, 7 nights off; we have flights daily to site from Adelaide or 3x per week from Port Augusta, and travel is 100% in company time.
About You:
This role requires a team-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will supplement the team and deliver best practice outcomes with skills and personal attributes including:
- Experience using Fleet management (Pitram) (Desired)
- Underground Mining experience/knowledge (Desired)
- Excellent communication skills
- Microsoft Office suite & PC experience
- Ability to make timely decisions and work calmly in high-pressure situations
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Attention to detail
- Ability to address daily changes to meet targets
- A safety-conscious mindset
- Proactive outlook with a positive attitude
