Job Title: Database Expertise Architect

Overview

This role requires exceptional technical expertise in Oracle Database architecture, particularly in relation to migrations to cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and own the technical architecture for Oracle DB migrations to cloud Exadata ExaCS, aligning with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with solution architects to translate business requirements into scalable migration architectures.
  • Provide hands-on leadership in designing, validating, and optimizing Oracle DB configurations (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, multitenancy).
  • Guide migration engineers on implementation best practices, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure integration with cloud services, security models, and governance frameworks.
  • Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and architecture validations throughout migration.
  • Support sizing, capacity planning, and high availability strategies.
  • Maintain documentation of architecture decisions, technical standards, and migration patterns.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues during and after migrations.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, with strong hands-on Oracle DB architecture expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle 11gR2, 12c, and 19c, particularly on Exadata platforms.
  • Expertise in RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and multitenancy, with proven performance tuning skills.
  • Experience architecting solutions on cloud platforms (Azure, OCI).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, security, and governance models.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and influence architectural decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Oracle licensing and cost optimization strategies.
