Job Title: Elicos Head Teacher

The role of the Elicos Head Teacher is to facilitate a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and individual growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring teacher roles and responsibilities, as well as acting on behalf of the Director of Studies when necessary.

This role consists of 20 hours of teaching per week, as well as 17.5 hours of administrative work. It is based at our Melbourne campus and requires strong organisational skills, agility, and forward-thinking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend and participate in weekly teachers' meetings, bimonthly professional development sessions, and liaison sessions as required.
  • Complete all regulatory administration duties required by ESOL National Code of Practice.
  • Enforce student contract and non-smoking rules on all students.
  • Work collaboratively with the Student Services team.
  • Achieve a neat and cooperative approach to classroom and staffroom organisation and administration.
  • Deliver lessons to an ELICOS class of students.
  • Prepare, plan, and keep detailed records of each lesson and session.
  • Assess students' level, course work, and progress.
Requirements:
  • Recognised Bachelor's Degree
  • Recognised and current TESOL Qualifications (e.g., CELTA)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the Education/VET sector
  • Possession of passion for maximising student engagement and academic performance
