The Senior Policy Officer, Strategic Policy is part of a team that supports the development of contemporary policy, regulatory design and legislative reforms for earth resources, with a particular focus on supporting the development of policies and materials to implement the Victorian Critical Minerals Roadmap. Working collaboratively across Resources Victoria and the department, the Senior Policy Officer is responsible for the key implementation actions across all four themes in the Critical Minerals Roadmap and contributes to advice and policy that delivers investment and jobs through the development of the State's resources.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-level authoritative advice on matters relating to policy, governance and regulatory issues to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with demanding timelines, to adapt and reprioritise quickly as required to deliver results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in preparing Cabinet submissions, Ministerial briefs, and/or reports to senior management.
  • A tertiary qualification in law, economics, public policy, business management, natural resource management or other relevant fields would be well regarded.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
