Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Property Solicitor to join our team at Miller Leith. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on all aspects of property law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the General Counsel and collaborate with the business owner on legal matters related to property transactions.
  • Contribute to and guide corporate governance and business policy, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate property purchases and leases, overseeing all related legal aspects, including contract negotiation and due diligence.
  • Engage external legal advisors when necessary and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring the best interests of the company are represented.
  • Resolve customer disputes and debts, navigating Fair Trading and NCAT processes, and providing expert advice on commercial and corporate litigation.
  • Partner with Human Resources on fair work matters and represent the company in Civil and Administrative Tribunals and Courts, if needed.
  • Demonstrate strong drafting skills for managing property leases and ensuring compliance with tenant and landlord obligations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Laws degree (or equivalent) with an unrestricted practicing certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar property-focused role, with a proven track record of providing expert legal advice and guidance.
  • Capable of developing creative and effective legal solutions, with a strong attention to detail and innovative mindset.
  • Able to work independently with a proactive approach, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
