Network Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role
Laing O'Rourke is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to join their Information Technology department in Brisbane, QLD. This permanent onsite position offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier one constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level network support to ensure optimal system performance.
- Investigate and resolve network incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Collaborate with the IT team to design, provision, and upgrade network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain operational processes for network and security systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Perform regular testing and tuning of networking and security software/hardware to ensure optimal performance.
- Design, implement, and monitor network and security systems, including data center, cloud, firewalls, WAF, and load balancers.
- Write and review technical design documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Provide related documentation and handover for a 2nd line incident response capability for network infrastructure operational issues.
About You
- At least 5 years' experience in IT infrastructure roles, with a strong background in network administration and security.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or Microsoft certifications, with a focus on Cisco technologies.
- Desirable experience in wireless infrastructure technologies, network security infrastructure, and security principles & best practices.
- Strong network administration skills, with a focus on customer service and business enablement.
- Working knowledge of the ITIL v3 Framework.
