We are seeking a motivated Research Technician with practical experience and a passion for advancing their skills in analytical chemistry and metabolomics. In this hands-on, lab-based role, you will assist the team with generating and processing metabolomics data, planning and executing data analysis, and developing new analytical methods and protocols.
Your Key Responsibilities- Generating and processing metabolomics data with a focus on purification, quantification, and characterization of microbial and plant extracts
- Planning and executing analysis, interpreting results, and communicating research findings to the team
- Developing new analytical methods and protocols for the purification of natural products
- Maintaining and improving the metabolomics in-house database
- Performing instrument maintenance, calibration, and developing safety work instructions
- Contributing to general laboratory functioning, including ordering supplies and ensuring equipment is maintained in a clean and serviceable condition
Requirements
- Minimum qualification of Bachelor's Degree in Science, ideally in Biological Chemistry or a relevant discipline, with at least a few years of relevant post-degree work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in analytical chemistry and targeted/untargeted metabolomics techniques
- Demonstrated experience in general laboratory maintenance, including ordering supplies and equipment calibration
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills for HSE and PC2 compliance
- Ability to work independently and contribute to team performance, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present research findings in reports and publications
