Venues Coordinator

This position will play a key role in delivering a culture of accountability and excellence within Townsville City Council. The Venues Officer will be responsible for coordinating the use of community facilities and open spaces, ensuring that events are managed in accordance with council policy and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate event bookings and manage the renewal application process
- Issue invoices and damage deposits, and ensure monies received are handled appropriately
- Determine and issue comprehensive casual event contracts
- Advise on event requirements, permits, licenses, approvals, and qualifications
- Make decisions on event fees and advise on requirements
We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual who possesses the following key requirements:
- Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant experience
- Diploma of Project Management – desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Event Management – desirable
- Good understanding of all of council's community facilities and open spaces
- Current Queensland 'C' class driver's licence
- Knowledge of event coordination and relevant administrative procedures
- High level interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills
- High level of written and oral communication skills
- People and resources management skills
- Demonstrated supervisory and performance management skills
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products and event management software
- 17.5% annual leave loading
