Job Description

At Mercure Townsville, we are seeking a driven and detail-oriented administration expert to join our Sales team. As a Conference & Events Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our conference and events department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining our conference database of key contacts and clients
  • Support the preparation and follow-up of conference proposals
  • Actively listen to clients and understand their needs
  • Assist with formulating quotations for conference proposals, covering venue, function, menu, and accommodation costs
  • Coordinate and produce conference collateral material
  • Collaborate with multiple hotel departments for each event's success

Requirements:

  • Superior time management and organisational skills, including the ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and methodical organisational skills
  • Initiative to seek solutions strategically where problems exist
  • Service-driven
  • A creative flair to assist with the design of conference collateral
  • Working knowledge of Opera computer systems (desirable)
  • Sound computer skills in the Microsoft Computer Suite
