Exciting Opportunity for a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Apprentice

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Apprentice. As an apprentice with East Coast Apprenticeships, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation of air conditioning and refrigeration units in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Support senior technicians in performing routine maintenance and servicing of cooling systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Help troubleshoot and diagnose issues in air conditioning and refrigeration systems and make necessary repairs.
  • Learn to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and specifications to understand the components and functioning of different systems.
  • Assist in calibrating and adjusting control systems to maintain proper temperature and humidity levels.
  • Learn to handle and work with refrigerants safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, equipment inspections, and parts inventory.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and attend relevant classroom sessions to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and supervisors to learn from their expertise and gain valuable industry insights.
Requirements:
  • Have a genuine interest in refrigeration, air conditioning, and related systems.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical concepts and an aptitude for technical work will be advantageous.
  • Have solid mathematics and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and great communication skills.
  • Be able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously.
  • Work well with others, be adaptable to change and open to learning from experienced professionals.
  • Be physically fit, you can expect to do physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and own transport.
