We have an opportunity for a Planning Project Officer to be part of our Fisheries & Aquaculture Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
As part of the project team to deliver on Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) project ‘Ecologically sustainable aquaculture growth through Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture (IMTA) - Incorporating nutrient modelling into regulatory frameworks, Project Number: 2023-051,’ the Planning Project Officer is responsible for undertaking a literature review of IMTA including existing models and data requirements, providing input and advice to the project team, and developing a national policy guideline to inform regulatory frameworks that supports the development, implementation, management and uptake of IMTA and ecologically sustainable growth in Australian aquaculture. The role will also identify any gaps in knowledge and potential opportunities for further research.

The role will represent PIRSA in stakeholder meetings and will be required to organise and deliver workshops and presentations throughout the project. The incumbent needs to work in a highly collaborative and consultative manner and contribute to delivering the agency’s priorities including increasing productivity of primary industries, secure production, enable market access, and build partnerships with industry and stakeholders.
