**The Opportunity**
We have an opportunity for a Fisheries Manager to be part of the Fisheries & Aquaculture Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Fisheries and Aquaculture Division within PIRSA is recognised nationally and internationally for the delivery of high-quality fisheries management services. Through collaboration with stakeholders, we work to deliver outcomes that maintain the sustainability of fisheries resources, while maximising economic benefits to communities.
The primary purpose of the role is the sustainable development, management and conservation of the fisheries and aquaculture industries which are governed by two Acts: the Aquaculture Act 2001 and the Fisheries Management Act 2007. The core business of a Fisheries Manager is the administration of these Acts.
The Fisheries Manager role works within a small group providing fisheries management services to more than 13 fisheries, in marine and freshwater environments in South Australian waters. The co-management or collaborate approach applied in the role will involve working closely with stakeholders, including commercial and recreational fishers and environmental groups, to deliver outcomes focused on sustainable management.
The role contributes to the delivery of the agency’s priorities including regulatory excellence and reforms of our legislative framework and programs to drive efficiency, effectiveness and unlock potential.
The role is responsible for leading a collaborative approach with industry, other government departments, and with other PIRSA divisions to deliver a range of fisheries and aquaculture related services to government. The successful applicant will be able to develop and coordinate integrated delivery mechanisms within the division and across a range of stakeholders, nationally and within the state.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- Opportunity Until August 2025
- Full Time 37.5 hours per week
**Requirements**:
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.

- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
**Remuneration**
ASO6 - $98,478 min - $104,165 max per annum, plus superannuation
