Northwest Child Mental Health Specialist

High-quality mental health services are provided to children and young people (under 18 years), and their families, living in Northwest Tasmania who have a severe, complex or acute mental illness.
The selected candidate will be part of the multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively to achieve quality client care services utilising evidence-based best practice and recovery principles.
Key Responsibilities:- Delivery of high-quality assessment, treatment and assertive case management to clients of the service and their families or carers in relation to mental health issues.
- Collaboration with other agencies to support and manage clients with mental health needs.
- Knowledge and experience of child and youth mental health service care principles, including statutory requirements, assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, and implementation in the practice setting.
- Theoretical and practical application of therapeutic interventions relevant to the service, with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.
- Possession of sound interpersonal skills for consultation, liaison, negotiation, training, and collaboration within the multi-disciplinary team and broader service system.
