Central Coast Council is seeking a skilled Communication Officer to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to inform and engage our community, as well as our internal staff.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement annual communication campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, intranet, website, and media releases.
  • Provide specialist advice to stakeholders on communication issues affecting Central Coast Council and support the implementation of staff engagement initiatives.
  • Plan, prepare, and construct a wide range of Council materials, including newspaper columns, media statements, display advertisements, brochures, fact sheets, briefing notes, and speech notes.
About You
  • You have a degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or a related field and have solid contemporary experience in a similar role in a large and complex organization with a high public profile.
  • You have experience across the full range of communications channels and bring a strategic and innovative approach to ensure your solutions deliver on business objectives.
  • You possess strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • You enjoy working in a supportive and creative team environment but can also deliver results autonomously as required.
