About us
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland.
The department encompasses the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service, and also supports other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.
Purpose of the role
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead and facilitate our annual programming and scheduling of commissioned projects and related activities to ensure delivery of our capital major, medium and minor works program.
Key requirements
Highly desirable requirements: Experience in strategic planning and collaboration activities capital works management in a large, complex organisation.
Your key accountabilities:
Lead, manage and direct a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate a strategic approach to the effective implementation and delivery of our Capital Works program.
Provide expert project management, including advice on complex contract and procurement matters, to support the delivery of multiple capital works projects.
Develop, review and continuously improve management systems, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines with a knowledge of industry best practice.
IDentify and develop performance monitoring and reporting including audits and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the Capital Works program.
Ensure quality delivery of all statutory requirements and legal obligations associated with administrative risks and liabilities, workplace health and safety and human resource management.
