Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wildlife Attendant to join our team at Dreamworld, one of the largest native wildlife parks in Southeast Queensland. As a Wildlife Attendant, you will be responsible for caring for and maintaining our native Australian wildlife collection, including daily food preparation, cleaning, and general animal husbandry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute food to animals
- Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for animals
- Assist with animal handling and husbandry tasks
- Record keeping and data entry
Requirements
- Previous experience working with Australian wildlife
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- High level of physical fitness to perform physically demanding work
Preferred Qualifications
- Animal husbandry qualifications or progressive study towards a Certificate in Wildlife and Exhibited Animals
- Experience with animal handling and husbandry
- Good general knowledge of Australian native fauna
Working Conditions
This is a physically demanding role that involves animal husbandry tasks and manual handling. A high level of energy and physical fitness is required to perform manual handling tasks and physically demanding work. A 7-day roster is required, including weekend work.
