About Us
Dreamworld is a leading theme park and conservation organization in Australia, home to nine magnificent tigers and a state-of-the-art facility for wildlife conservation.
We are seeking an experienced Wildlife Conservationist to join our team at Tiger Island. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in the conservation and education of our visitors about these incredible creatures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training our tigers in a protected contact environment, promoting positive behavioral enrichment and safe interactions.
- Performing essential husbandry tasks such as feeding, preparing diets, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of Tiger enclosures and facilities.
- Engaging with guests through educational presentations and interactions about tigers and global conservation efforts, inspiring a love of wildlife and conservation among our visitors.
- Supporting our Wildlife team with husbandry duties for our native animal collection, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and care.
Requirements:
- A solid background in wildlife management, with industry experience working with native, exotic, or non-domestic animals.
- Tertiary qualifications in zoological sciences are preferred, but not essential if you have significant industry experience.
- Extensive animal husbandry experience, with a strong understanding of animal behavior and training principles.
- A friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills to engage with guests confidently and promote our conservation mission.
- A strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and animal welfare, with a passion for delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical dexterity and the ability to perform demanding tasks safely, with flexibility in working hours including weekends.
- Vaccination against Q-Fever, and a current driver's license.
What We Offer:
- An estimated salary of AU$65,000 - AU$80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
