Job Description:
  • This role involves leading the review, challenge, and approval of automated credit decisioning strategies across personal and business banking.
  • You will oversee portfolio management activities, ensuring robust monitoring and governance of credit risk exposures.
  • Strong data analysis skills are required to understand, interpret, and convey data insights for informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for preparing committee packs and memos for senior stakeholders outlining credit quality performance and material risks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Exercise delegated authority to approve automated credit strategy decisions.
  • Be accountable for ensuring credit strategy decisions are fit for purpose, compliant with regulatory standards, and demonstrate sound risk management practices.
  • Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of a high-performing credit strategies and oversight team.
  • Collaborate across business units to drive continuous improvement in credit risk outcomes and portfolio performance.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in financial services, consulting, or related fields, with deep expertise in credit risk (minimum 12 years) and associated tertiary qualifications.
  • Aptitude for quantitative analysis and ability to understand, interpret, and convey data insights.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen with sound judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and ability to simplify complex information.
  • Track record of driving outcomes through collaboration, leadership, and risk insight.
